The Valley
In the valley, you will find villages with attractions suitable for the whole family.

VALTOURNENCHE has well-preserved Alpine houses and a sports centre, a scenic picnic area, excellent horse riding and rock climbing. It is also an excellent and stunningly beautiful ski resort with modern (but not crowded) lifts, a good selection of easy, medium and challenging pistes and a direct link to the Cervinia ski area and from there to Zermatt. So if you wish, you can join the lift network in Valtournenche and be in Zermatt in Switzerland for lunch before returning over the high alpine glaciers on the spectacular 'Little Matterhorn' cable car and skiing back down to Valtournenche!

ANTEY-SAINT-ANDRÉ is located near all tourist resorts of the valley. It is rich in traditions. It offers a cross country ski track, a very new adventure park, a well equipped sports centre and a climbing wall.

CHAMOIS is a secret and magical place. It can be reached only by cable car or by walking along a panoramic path from La Magdeleine. In summer, it offers excursions to picturesque places like to Cheneil and Lago Lod with a well equipped picnic area. In winter, there is a small family ski resort and cosy restaurants and bars.

LA MAGDELEINE is a nice, typical mountain village, well exposed to the sun with cross country and downhill ski and ice skating during the winter season, beautiful mountain walks and excursions in the summer.

TORGNON is an ideal place for excursions and walks in the summer. It is a friendly family resort for skiing with really nice views of the mountains. It is for people who love a warm and tranquil mountain experience. In the winter, it is an excellent, small ski resort with a long black run, as well as a range of reds and blues. Being lower than the high alpine resorts, it is great when the weather is less good or if you only want to do a half day's skiing. The on-piste restaurants are memorable for their food and warm welcome.

CERVINIA is a large, modern high alpine resort that offers excursions, walks, sports activities like ski-doo, para-gliding, golf in the summer but it is best known for its enormous network of ski lifts and pistes which lie directly beside the Matterhorn, as well as its connections to Zermatt in Switzerland and Valtournenche lower down the valley.
